David recently joined Economics Research Associates with grounding in economic development and over 10 years of research and consulting experience in both the public and private sectors.
His private sector work includes retail location strategy work for major UK retailers and provision of definitive retail industry reports to developers. David’s more recent work includes research at UK visitor attractions as well as at a wide array of consumer events. He has also conducted financial modelling for mixed-use projects and resorts in Europe and Asia – optimising and assessing revenue streams from golf courses, sports hubs, stadia and arena. In this work, David played a lead role in determining financial guarantees provided to developers and in conducting due diligence for private equity funds.
Within the public sector, David has conducted economic impact assessments of major sporting events, contributing to event-led tourism policy development. Conversely, David has evaluated the impact of government policies on urban renewal and economic development.
With extensive experience in sport, leisure and retail, David brings strong statistical, economic and financial modelling skills to the firm. Examples of these include feasibility analyses, demand curve estimation, product optimisation, market share estimation and concept testing.
David holds an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics, an MA in Economic and Social Research from the University of Chicago and a BA in Economic Anthropology from Brigham Young University. He is fluent in Spanish and speaks basic Italian.
