Sujata has experience in both public and private sector development, focusing on economic and financial analyses of real estate projects, downtown revitalization strategies, infill and mixed-use development, and transit-oriented real estate development.
Her recent experience has included market studies, feasibility studies, and economic development strategies for public agencies and private clients, evaluating the development potential for residential, office, retail, hotel, and entertainment land uses. These studies have included a development strategy for target sites and areas such as downtown and redevelopment districts. She has also conducted market assessments of the potential for community development and smart growth funds targeting investment in low- and moderate-income areas. In addition, she has completed several assignments evaluating market potential for transit-oriented development at commuter and light-rail stations. Sujata also has expertise in Latin American tourism and urban real estate development, with recent projects completed in Mexico, El Salvador and Brazil.
Sujata holds a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from the University of California at Berkeley, where she focused on Community Development and Project Development. She received her B.A. from Mount Holyoke College
magna cum laude with honors in Politics. She speaks fluent Spanish, and is proficient in Portuguese and Hindi.
